Quran Lies

Does the quran really confirm the previous scriptures?

Throughout the quran there are numerous times where Muhammad, nay, Allah tells us that the quran confirms all the previous scriptures.

[2:41] You shall believe in what I have revealed herein, confirming what you have; do not be the first to reject it. Do not trade away My revelations for a cheap price, and observe Me.

[2:89] When this scripture came to them from GOD, and even though it agrees with, and confirms what they have, and even though they used to prophesy its advent when they talked with the disbelievers, when their own prophecy came to pass, they disbelieved therein. GOD's condemnation thus afflicts the disbelievers.

[2:91] When they are told, "You shall believe in these revelations of GOD," they say, "We believe only in what was sent down to us." Thus, they disbelieve in subsequent revelations, even if it is the truth from their Lord, and even though it confirms what they have! Say, "Why then did you kill GOD's prophets, if you were believers?"

[2:97] Say, "Anyone who opposes Gabriel should know that he has brought down this (Quran) into your heart, in accordance with GOD's will, confirming previous scriptures, and providing guidance and good news for the believers."

[2:101] Now that a messenger from GOD has come to them, and even though he proves and confirms their own scripture, some followers of the scripture (Jews, Christians, and Muslims) disregard GOD's scripture behind their backs, as if they never had any scripture.

[3:3] He sent down to you this scripture, truthfully, confirming all previous scriptures, and He sent down the Torah and the Gospel
[3:4] before that, to guide the people, and He sent down the statute book. Those who disbelieve in GOD's revelations incur severe retribution. GOD is Almighty, Avenger.

[3:81] GOD took a covenant from the prophets, saying, "I will give you the scripture and wisdom. Afterwards, a messenger will come to confirm all existing scriptures. You shall believe in him and support him." He said, "Do you agree with this, and pledge to fulfill this covenant?" They said, "We agree." He said, "You have thus borne witness, and I bear witness along with you."

[4:47] O you who received the scripture, you shall believe in what we reveal herein, confirming what you have, before we banish certain faces to exile, or condemn them as we condemned those who desecrated the Sabbath. GOD's command is done.

[5:42] They are upholders of lies, and eaters of illicit earnings. If they come to you to judge among them, you may judge among them, or you may disregard them. If you choose to disregard them, they cannot harm you in the least. But if you judge among them, you shall judge equitably. GOD loves those who are equitable.
[5:43] Why do they ask you to judge among them, when they have the Torah, containing GOD's law, and they chose to disregard it? They are not believers.

[5:44] We have sent down the Torah, containing guidance and light. Ruling in accordance with it were the Jewish prophets, as well as the rabbis and the priests, as dictated to them in GOD's scripture, and as witnessed by them. Therefore, do not reverence human beings; you shall reverence Me instead. And do not trade away My revelations for a cheap price. Those who do not rule in accordance with GOD's revelations are the disbelievers.

[5:48] Then we revealed to you this scripture, truthfully, confirming previous scriptures, and superseding them. You shall rule among them in accordance with GOD's revelations, and do not follow their wishes if they differ from the truth that came to you. For each of you, we have decreed laws and different rites. Had GOD willed, He could have made you one congregation. But He thus puts you to the test through the revelations He has given each of you. You shall compete in righteousness. To GOD is your final destiny - all of you - then He will inform you of everything you had disputed.

[6:92] This too is a blessed scripture that we have revealed, confirming the previous scriptures, that you may warn the most important community and all those around it. Those who believe in the Hereafter will believe in this (scripture), and will observe the Contact Prayers (Salat).

[10:37] This Quran could not possibly be authored by other than GOD. It confirms all previous messages, and provides a fully detailed scripture. It is infallible, for it comes from the Lord of the universe.

[35:31] What we revealed to you in this scripture is the truth, consummating all previous scriptures. GOD is fully Cognizant of His servants, Seer.

[46:12] Before this, the book of Moses provided guidance and mercy. This too is a scripture that confirms, in Arabic, to warn those who transgressed, and to give good news to the righteous.

[46:30] They said, "O our people, we have heard a book that was revealed after Moses, and confirms the previous scriptures. It guides to the truth; to the right path.

In all of this, it never says that the Quran partailly confirms the previous scriptures, it states "all". The Quran confirms all the previous scriptures.
When it says in - [2:89] "When this scripture came to them from GOD, and even though it agrees with, and confirms what they have..." one has to wonder, what does Muhammad, I mean, what does Allah mean by this? It "agrees" with it? No, not at all. It contradicts strongly.

3:81] GOD took a covenant from the prophets, saying, "I will give you the scripture and wisdom. Afterwards, a messenger will come to confirm all existing scriptures. You shall believe in him and support him." He said, "Do you agree with this, and pledge to fulfill this covenant?" They said, "We agree." He said, "You have thus borne witness, and I bear witness along with you."

If the previous scriptures were so corrupt, wouldn't this be a good time to tell the people of their corruption? Maybe a little hint that the book they have with them now is corrupt? If Muhammad posessed the truth, how can he confirm that truth with all the previous scriptures, most, if not all of which are "corrupted"? To confirm something corrupt, the word you have with you must also be corrupt.
[10:94] "If you have any doubt regarding what is revealed to you from your Lord, then ask those who read the previous scripture. Indeed, the truth has come to you from your Lord. Do not be with the doubters. "
Again, if I have doubts concerning Muhammad and his revelations, why would god send me off to look in a corrupted scripture? Isn't that rather perplexing?

The truth cannot confirm lies.... unless the "truth" is not truth at all, but lies as well. Lies can confirm lies by lieing to you. Truth cannot confirm lies by telling the truth to you. Truth can correct lies, yes, but it cannot confirm them.

The free dictionary says this about the word "confirm" - 1. To support or establish the certainty or validity of; verify.
2. To make firmer; strengthen: Sample - "Working on the campaign confirmed her intention to go into politics."
3. To make valid or binding by a formal or legal act; ratify.
4. To administer the religious rite of confirmation to.

The only reason I believe why muslims shout "Corruption!", is because their prophet Muhammad wrote things that the quran could never do, even though he says it does. Err, sorry, I mean Allah wrote things that the quran could never do.

He says the quran confirms all the previous scriptures, but doesn't.
He says the quran agrees with the previous scriptures, but doesn't.
The only way for muslims to save their prophet, is to say that the bible is corrupt. Even though it does not state that in the quran, and even though it makes their god a liar when they say it, they must protect their prophet at all costs.

It makes their god look very bad, since he claims that Muhammad is written in the torah and gospels. Yet, if they are corrupted by sinner's hands, why should we put any faith in them? Why would god do that? "Here, if you have doubts about Muhammad, look in this corrupted book for proof of Muhammad!" What is up with that?

I guess what really irratates me, is the fact that muslims only go by their prophet Muhammad and what he claimed. Since they say the bible is corrupt, we cannot go back and confirm with the previous scriptures that Muhammad is a true prophet of god. They can only go by what Muhammad claimed.

Muhammad claimed that he was written about in the torah and gospel, but when muslims present to us "Proof" that Allah was telling the truth, this must be taken with care. They say that he was the prophet that God spoke about in Deuteronomy 18: 15-22

15 The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;

16 According to all that thou desiredst of the LORD thy God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of the LORD my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not.

17 And the LORD said unto me, They have well spoken that which they have spoken.

18 I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.

19 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.

20 But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.

21 And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken?

22 When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.

In Deuteronomy 18:20, it says that any prophet that speaks in the name of other gods shall die. Quite strong words, wouldn't you agree? The name of the god "Allah" is nowhere mentioned in the bible. The God of the bible never tells us his name is Allah, neither does the god of the quran say that his name is the God of the bible.

Ok course, there is always that possibility that Deuteronomy 18 is corrupted. Maybe it said in the beginning, "The prophet who shall speak of me, in the name of another god shall live?" Since the whole Bible is supposedly corrupted, we can have no faith in these words. Also, since muslims have no proof that Allah was the one who wrote the torah and gospel, they again can only go by what Muhammad claimed.

I can rely on the Old and New Testaments. Muslims can only rely on the quran for reliable information, since the previous scriptures were supposedly "corrupted". I wonder why an almight god would allow his words, which he sent down to his creation for guidance and instruction, to be corrupted? Very odd.....Maybe this is Satan, trying to decieve people?

Maybe Satan said, "If I told the people that the previous scriptures were corrupt.... and I give them a new book to believe in... how many people would follow me?"
